Price management for NCE promotions
Following the July update, where we introduced Microsoft NCE promotions in the purchase flow, you can now also manage your sales prices for promotions.
Previously, a promotion only reduced your cost price. The price your customer paid stayed the same as for the regular product unless you managed the subscription level pricing individually. Now you can decide how much of the promotion discount you pass on to your customers, allowing for a more comprehensive, broker wide, philosophy as well as individual proactive management of organization level pricing in the promo cases.
In the Price List, select service Microsoft 365 CSP Direct and the new product group “NCE - Promotions”:
- Every active promotion is listed as its own product, showing the promotion name and the item code of the base product.
- The Cost Price and Recommended Price already have the promotion discount applied.
- You can search for promotions by product name, product ID, or full or partial promotion ID.
You manage promotional prices exactly the same way as any other NCE product:
- Set sales prices on Broker level and on Organization level.
- Apply price rules (Fixed Margin, Discount on MSRP, Fixed Sales Price).
- Schedule future prices, and stop or remove prices, in Actions → Edit price. The default price follows the promotion’s own start and end dates.
When a promotion is selected in the NCE seat-based purchase flow, Price/Month now shows the promotional sales price from your Price List, and Broker margin is calculated from that price and the discounted cost price. The same promotional price is used on the subscription and in billing.
Report export permissions improvements
Cost Center data for Key Account Managers:
Key Account Managers can now view Cost Center data in Billing Report exports. This helps them review customer charges by Cost Center, understand how costs are allocated, and answer billing questions.
Pricing Details restricted for Sales Agents:
Sales Agents can no longer include Pricing Details in Billing Report exports. This helps protect sensitive pricing information by limiting which roles can include it in an export.
