New General Billing Report Beta

We are happy to kick the year off with a significant update to the Billing functionality.

There is a new General Billing Report available now. You can find it under “Billing” menu.

This is currently only available for Broker users and the same roles who have access to the old General Billing Report.

Your customers will still be using the old General Billing Report, which is generated on the fly. At least for the time being, while this is in beta.

The primary benefit of using the new General Billing Report is that it is a lot faster.

The more billing there is, the bigger performance improvement you’ll notice.

Performance improvement examples

Based on these benchmarks, the improvements are:

1 month average improvement: 56% faster
3 month average improvement: 46% faster
Total average improvement: 51% faster

Wider report date ranges

The allowed date range for the old billing report was 3 months.

With the new one, we have increased the time limit to 12 months. For most Brokers, it would be able to return all the billing for the entire year in one view.

However, for a select few Brokers, it might be problematic, if the the sheer magnitude of billing is too high.

Feature tracks

The new General Billing Report does not include billing report scheduling yet. This will be added in the future.

There is a dedicated billing team working on specifically improving this new billing report. In the first half of this year, we’re planning to add:

Visualizing billing trends (cost, sales, margin - month over month)
Broker user role specific reports for Scheduled Billing Reports
Improved manual billing lines functionality

Beta and ask from you

We have quite thoroughly tested the billing data sets.

That being said, if you still spot any discrepancies between the old and the new billing data, then please let us know.

We strongly encourage you to start using the new General Billing Report (beta).
